undjurekbrüggen is an architectural practice that considers architecture as an immanent part of a common Earth shared with all people, animals, plants and things. Instead of placing individual, human objects in a natural world in crisis, undjurekbrüggen intends to connect the world you live in and the world you live from in one space.

With the aim of not only protecting the Earth, but also caring for it and actively shaping it in a positive way, undjurekbrüggen initiates ecological projects in cooperation with other actors.

These projects can have different formats (building, furniture, text, film, campaign, neighbourhood or landscape), but always deal with the existing in terms of building, ecology, economy, politics, climate and comfort.

Due to the industrialisation of agriculture and the abolition of the milk quota in Germany, small farms have to close down. They are replaced by industrial agricultural production. The region is characterised by agriculture and old half-timbered buildings. The modern farm is located at the entrance of a traditional Swabian village.

The Milchhaus (milk house) contributes to rescue the farm. Milk and other products, which are produced there are sold directly to local residents. The house consists of a wooden framework, which corresponds to the local tradition of crafts-manship and was covered with affordable corrugated sheets, as they are used on the modern farm.

The milk house mediates between the traditional village and the modern farm built in the 1970s. On the one hand it marks the entrance to the traditional village, on the other hand it remains part of the modern farm. The house had to be realised on a very small budget.

in collaboration with Aimée Michelfelder, Studio Amea

The Milchhaus is linked to the project 025 Landschaftsmetropole, which is part of the IBA'27 Stuttgart network.
